Visiting Southampton for BlogCamp and a stay with Travelodge

MSC Preziosa

Inside: Review of my stay with Travelodge Southampton.

I am very lucky with my job that I get to go on business trips every now and then. More often than not I am in London, so can nip in and out in one day as we are only half an hour away by train.

Sometimes though, I have to travel further afield and that means either a very long day travelling or an overnight stay.

As a busy mum, it is actually really nice to get a night away, isn’t it? A bed to yourself, nobody waking you in the middle of the night…

bliss

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited down to Southampton for a day trip on the gorgeous MSC Preziosa Cruise Ship. It isn’t every day you get to board a luxury ship, so of course, I said yes!

I drove down the night before and coincidentally I had been invited to stay at a Travelodge. After seeing their ads promising kingsize beds, I was sold!

I packed my bags and headed down to Southampton ready for a great night sleep and a fun-filled adventure with friends.

Check-in was nice and simple, with early check-in if needed although I didn’t arrive until after dark. The staff were friendly and after being handed my room key I was directed to my room up on the second floor.

My bed was very comfortable and the fact that I had a kingsize all to myself was a luxury indeed!

The room was plenty big enough, with a desk and an en-suite bathroom. Of course, family rooms would be bigger but I didn’t need anything more than my bed.

Now what would a stay-over be, without a breakfast the next morning? I am a huge fan of cooked breakfasts, so a buffet with all of my favourites is always going to win me over!

After a brilliant nights sleep, with no disturbances from neighbouring rooms thanks to heavy doors and thick walls, I was able to enjoy my day in Southampton.

The ship was absolutely stunning, with the most beauuuuuutiful¬†crystal stairs. I think Instagram was full of photos of people’s shoes and the steps!

MSC Preziosa, La Playa Preciosa Covered pool

The only thing missing was a dip in this pool!! I could have spent all day in there!

It was a great day, full of laughter and learning, surrounded by my favourite people. Blogging has brought me so many wonderful friends and so any opportunity to go see them and I am right there!

Blogging has brought me so many wonderful friends and so any opportunity to go see them and I am right there- luxury ship or otherwise!

I was given a complimentary stay with Travelodge. All words and thoughts are my own.
