Passford House Hotel, The New Forest

A couple of weekends ago we travelled down to The New Forest for a mini break. Such a gorgeous part of the country – if you’ve never been then you really must try and get down. We left at the crack of dawn the Saturday morning and spent most of the day cycling around, exploring the woods. Feeling pretty exhausted we set off in search of our hotel, not too far from where we’d been cycling. Well, what a beautiful place to stay!

Passford House Hotel is everything you would want from a hotel in the country. Besides obviously being modernised over the years and having decor refreshed, it doesn’t look like anything has changed since it was first ever built. Honestly I felt like the lady of the manor and didn’t want to leave!

I actually said to Mr F that it was what I’d hoped our honeymoon suite would have been like for our wedding night, but sadly that has been totally modernised and lost its charm. Thankfully Passford House have kept all of the beauty of the original building and the insides too.

If you’ve seen my post about our weekend away then you’ll hopefully have caught the room tour within the video too. We stayed in the family suite and it was perfect for our family, with a corridor leading to a twin room for the girls and a living room area big enough for the travel cot (provided by them of course).

That was our bed – isn’t it amazing? It was a king, if not a super king and we came home and ordered a new bed for our room as it was just so nice to be in a spacious bed. Not that we have ordered a four-poster though!

The girls were pleased as punch to have their own space, ordinarily sleeping in the same room as us when we go to hotels and having to be quiet for their brother. Instead they stayed up late and chatted away to their hearts content.

This bathroom though, have you ever seen anything like it in your life? Once the children had drifted off to sleep I ran myself a bath and it was exactly what the doctors ordered after all the exercise of the day!

Our whole stay was just lovely, with helpful staff and beautiful grounds to walk in. I had fun taking photos of the girls in their pretty outfits in amongst the flowers, it makes me want to make more of our garden but I am just not green fingered enough.

The evening meal was delicious and big enough portions to leave us feeling full (although not too full for dessert!).

My favourite was the breakfast though – I am a sucker for a fry up! And there was so much selection, with pastries and fruit to choose from as well. Wills ate his weight in melon and I ate mine in hash browns!

The girls said they wished we could have stayed for longer and I would have to agree. There was a pool that we just didn’t have time to try out and like I said, our room was just amazing! The New Forest is definitely one of my favourite places that I’ve visited in the UK and we will definitely be going back to the Passford House Hotel on our next visit – if not just for another relaxing bath!

We were given our stay in return for a feature on my blog but all words and thoughts are my own.
