Happy Days: New Year New Hosts

Welcome to HappyDays! The idea of this linky is to inspire others to make the best out of every day, to see the happy in the little things. As no matter what, there is always something good in every single day- we just need to take the time to see it. Share your happy posts, we love to read them!

Happy New Year!

How have you been? I hope you’ve had an amazing Christmas and New Year. Before I share some of my happy bits and bobs I just wanted to welcome my new co-host, the gorgeous Sian from Quite Frankly She Said. If you aren’t familiar with her blog then hop on over, she is lovely!

I also want to mention our new IG project #MyHappyCapture, not directly related to this linky but along the same happy lines. We would love if you joined in by tagging any photos you post that capture happiness.

We have had such a lovely Christmas, I took 5 whole days off from my blog and it was so refreshing! There are times when it feels like if I stop then the world might end, that my readers will just up and leave. Silly isn’t it? The past week, being away from my laptop has not resulted in the world ending and fingers crossed you are still here 🙂

We spent Christmas day and Boxing Day with Mr F’s family as my family had gone off to Lanzarote for the holidays! Alright for some eh? We caught up with them on the 28th though which was really nice, nothing like having your own family traditions.

I have to confess, I took approximately 10 photos over the whole period so don’t really have any to share. I took the ‘time off for Christmas‘ a little too seriously and didn’t really pick up my camera at all. I spent most of the time rebranding my IG account– totally loving white and natural light at the moment. I treated myself to a 50mm lens with a Christmas voucher and so I will be taking lots of bright photos from now on. I do live in a bit of a cave so will have to spend most of my days outside haha!

LJ at mum's house

I did manage to capture this shot of LJ while we were at my mum’s, I love how the 50mm blurs the background. It is all I have wanted from my photos since I started this love affair with photography so I am pleased as punch!

You may have noticed I have changed my header once again- I think this one might be a keeper *fingers crossed*. All in all I am really loving my blog again and I think the break did me the world of good.

Do you ever take a step back?

  3. Ooo, get you and your new fancy pants header. It looks really good. I took three weeks off from blogging over Christmas and it gelt great. I’m also really excited to start up again whereas I felt a bit jaded about it all in December. Proves that a break can do wonderful things for your creativity x

  4. Your pictures are beautiful, I love the brightness in the one of your girls against the brick wall, so pretty! Like you I didn’t take too many pictures over Christmas, which was a shame, but it was nice to be part of the moment rather than looking in with the camera instead! 🙂 Thanks for hosting the linkup, it’s my first time joining in today.

  5. Ahh that’s a beautiful shot, I also got a 50mm lens for Christmas and loved playing around with it to get blurred Christmas lights behind the children – I’m not sure what I’ll do now the Christmas lights are all gone?!?
    xx
