When You Are Tearing Your Hair Out

I am a positive person, not much phases me but every now and then I have a day where nothing seems to go right. Yesterday was one of those days.

When You AreIt started in the night, Little L is teething badly and waking up every hour! The night before last was some sort of record and saw her wake up 12 times! 12 times!!! Needless to say, by the morning I felt terrible (while she was all smiles of course) and wanted to stay in bed the whole day.

With a toddler and a baby there is no such thing as a lie-in and so down we went for breakfast. Into the kitchen we go, only to find that the dishes were still on the side from the night before, no room to make anything. Was there any milk in the fridge? Of course not.

This bad luck continued throughout the day, toys getting broken as they had been left on the floor and no matter how many times I tidied they found their way onto the floor once again.

Little L had refused naps all day and so by dinner time was so tired that she was throwing tantrums left, right and center! Combined with a toddler who gets very tetchy when hungry, you can imagine the scene- I am trying to cook dinner and the pair of them are screaming.

To top it all off, Mr F texts me to say he is staying late at work. I was not impressed.

I sat down on the kitchen stool, feeling completely stressed, not knowing what to do with myself. Then I remembered something. A while back I was sent some Bach RESCUE Remedy products. I had been interested to see whether they would work in times of stress and frustration. I had been waiting for an opportunity and this was the perfect moment!

Bach-Flower-Remedies-Rescue-Remedy-Natural-Stress-Relief-741273003908Each of the products are safe for the whole family and contain a blend of Rock Rose, Impatiens, Clematis, Star of Bethlehem and Cherry Plum- all of which have natural calming properties.

I was sent the chewing gum, dropper solution and liquid melts. I decided to try the dropper as you put 4 drops onto your tongue, nice and easy. There was no taste which was great and so I sat and waited.

My verdict

I can only tell you what my experience was, I don’t know whether it was a happy coincidence but I certainly did feel calmer within minutes of taking the drops. I picked myself up, gave each of the girls some strawberries to keep them busy and finished dinner. Before long it was time for bed and both girls were tucked up for the night. Mr F came home expecting me to be a wreck and found me relaxed on the sofa with my laptop (naturally).

Bach’s RESCUE Remedy has been used for generations and is a trusted way to restore your inner calm. I will definitely be keeping the melts in my bag for when we are out and about and will use the drops if I should every face a difficult situation at home again.

Have you tried natural remedies in times of stress?
