HyggeBox – Danish Cosiness In A Box

You’ll have guessed by now that I am more than a little obsessed with Danish living, more specifically the idea of hygge – that warm fuzzy feeling you get from different moments in life. Well, let me introduce you to HyggeBox, a monthly subscription service that brings you gorgeous hyggelig bits and bobs. I had one look at their website and knew I had to give them a try – who doesn’t want cosiness and togetherness brought straight to their door?

I was sent their Dansk Deluxe box, which is just lovely. They also do a standard HyggeBox which has three core items of lighting, indulgence and hot drinks as well as a few other monthly theme items. The Dansk Deluxe goes the extra mile though as you get some exclusive bespoke items such as the gorgeous cushion cover here in January’s box.

This month’s box included:

Bamboo socks – to keep my feet nice and cosy!

Notepad + pencil – for keeping a gratitude journal

Candles – essential for Danish living!

Fabric kit – you know my obsession with foxes and I am going to turn him into a doorstop!

Tea – For snuggling up on those cold winter days

Cushion cover – to help towards making a cosy nook

Tea lights – again, lighting is essential!

The last item was a large bar of caramel chocolate. Now, I am dairy and soya free at the moment and I was going to give it to the girls to share. However, I decided that the whole purpose of the box was to bring me joy and so I have saved it for the day that I give up breastfeeding and am able to have chocolate again- I cannot tell you how excited I am for that!

As you can see, everything inside the box has the aim of bringing cosiness to your life and it is much needed at this time of year isn’t it? I would love to have it on a subscription as it would be lovely to have a cosy package arrive every month and I am definitely wanting to carry on my hygge journey beyond the winter months.

If you are looking to bring more hygge to your life then HyggeBox is what you need! I have a discount code for you to use on any box – including the Mother’s Day boxes. Use HYGGEBOXKATY for 10% off at the checkout – enjoy!

Better still, I have a fab competition for you! If you’d like to win a Dansk Deluxe Box then all you have to do is enter the form below. Good luck!

  1. I love hygge. We’re renovating our house at the moment and I’m incorporating this belief into every room. Hygge to me is that xmas eve feels that you could never before put a name to it.thanks for sharing x

  2. Being wrapped up warm in a nice blanket on a winters night with a mug of hot chocolate 🙂 perfect after a day with the 3 kiddies driving me wild!xx

  3. Only fairly recently come across hygge, though certainly like the idea of being cosy ( warm and comfortable). Great idea. Nice to know of different cultures, traditions etc.

  4. My favourite thing about Hygge is it highlights how good it is to curl up in a fluffy blanket and embrace the happy comforting fealing it creates. For this reason it is also a great thing to share with the kids. They appreciate Hygge without knowing the name.

  5. I love the idea of being cosy and together! My husband has been talking a lot about Hygge recently but I’d never heard of it before – these boxes look great and a cosy pair of socks always keeps me happy!

  6. i love the concept of Hygge, cosying up and taking some time out to relax and snuggle up is so needed with all the pressures of life

  7. I love the hygge concept because it brings me comfort. My favourite way is to snuggle into a blanket with a hot drink and read a nice book. Nothing too heavy, just a light read.

  8. Have you read the little book of hygge? It has words from around the world which has similar but not quite the same international words for ‘cosy’. Cosy doesn’t really sum it up does it.
    Anyway love your blog!

  9. I have not yet tried a Hyggebox, i love warmth and cosiness and anything danish-its all so trendy and well made! Blankets, socks and candles oooooooo x Thank you for the code, i am off to look at the website now. I really would love to try Hygge x

  12. Oh this looks ace. I love a bit of cozy me time. I adore foxes too and love a good fox print anything. Just out of interest – why no dairy while breast feeding? I’m vegeterian and eat mostly vegan. No kids but working on that at the mo so really curious. Ta.

  13. Slow Cooker chicken Curry, our bellies nice and full,
Dave’s got his feet up, enjoying time to chill,
Our comfies on, smellie candles lit, Curtains tightly drawn
And without even trying we’ve got our Hygge on!

  14. Hygge seems to be the word of the moment. As if it is something that has not been invented before. I was enjoying cosy things like blankets and candles before the word became trendy.

  15. I’ve never heard of this before, it seems really nice and I love the items you got! relaxing is definitely a really important part of everyday life to keep your mind and body healthy

  16. It’s not something that necessarily needs money, and it cheers you up in what can be quite a miserable time of year

  17. Well I love everything about the concept – I would love to have a room of my own with a wood burning stove, cosy armchair and snuggly blanket, and a bookshelf nearby. And preferably a big fluffy cat to curl up with.

  18. I know its not walking around IKEA on a Sunday morning, but off to Denmark in a month for the first time so hoping to get a dose of it there.

  19. A night in on a dark evening snuggled up next to my husband after a long week at work a bottle of wine and steak and chips

  20. Bamboo socks are awesome, am wearing some right now. Also the chocolate looks lush! Fingers (and toes) crossed.

  21. It just makes me happy and reminds me that I need to take time for myself. It’s so easy to get caught up in life and forget to take the time to be cosy and relaxed.

  22. The attitude, feeling content in the moment whatever you’re doing and whoever you’re with. There’s too much want want want in this world so it’s nice to take comfort in the small things and being with those you love <3

  23. Feeling comfy and cosy, like my movie nights with my 2 girls wrapped under a blanket with a hot drink x

  24. It is all about being in the moment and taking life as it is. The items are bespoke and look great!

  25. the whole concept of having a ‘proper’ name now for pj, blankie, choc and dvd days/nights is fab. Almost like being given permission to chill out.

  26. Me and my fiancé love hygge and all it stands for! Filling a room with candles, snuggling under a thick blanket whilst wearing cosy clothes and drinking hot chocolate. It completely helps us unwind as we chat about everything and anything!

  27. Like you I too am obsessed with the Danish Way of living. It’s hard just to pick one thing, the idea of being under the blanket on my sofa wearing the socks, having the candles lit and enjoying the tea and chocolate may well be my new happy place, if I had to I’d say the blanket, been obsessed with cosying underneath a blanket all winter

  28. Sitting in front of a real log fire under a soft, fluffy throw with a cup of tea and a piece of home-made cake, reading a good book – perfect.

  29. The whole being cosy focus of Hygge is just amazing. It is something we have been implementing slowly but surely. Thanks for the chance.

  30. My favourite thing is that it encourages us to appreciate the smaller things which then make us feel good 🙂

  31. I love how it celebrates taking time out for yourself. So many of us feel guilty for doing it but it’s necessary!

  32. Hygge brings you more in touch with yourself. You can’t buy it really, you can only buy things that are likely to help in feeling it.
