HappyDays Linky #14

Welcome to HappyDays! I co-host this linky with Jenna (Tiny Footsteps) so please do remember to go over to her post and say hi- she has a FAB new header too! We want to inspire you to make the best out of every day, appreciating the little things in life and having happy days.

I really enjoyed Sarah’s uplifting post over at Extraordinary Chaos, reading about her week made me want to move to the country! Was lovely to welcome you to HappyDays Sarah, hope you have had another fab week!

Over to my week…..

Out & About

I started the week feeling very low indeed, thankfully I have some lovely friends who told me to get out of the house! I do get out when I take G to preschool and when I go to work but I am not sure that counts. So, yesterday we met up with a lovely friend and went to Secret Garden in town. It is a great place to take the kids, unlike a soft play that leave me feeling stressed out, this is a calm and relaxed environment. It feels like you have gone to someone’s house to play, except they have the best toys ever and fake grass everywhere inside haha!

Fun at Home

I am still trying to get my head around Little G being at pre-school and only having half days with her. Most afternoons she has come home absolutely exhausted so has just wanted to sit on the sofa and watch Disney movies. This week we have watched Cinderella 1, 2 & 3. I didn’t even know there were 3 films, did you? I really enjoyed the third one and actually told Mr F I had to go (he was on the phone) so I could watch the end!! What a saddo!

train track

We have also had some lovely mummy daughter time while Baby L naps. Besides crafts, her favourite thing to play is trains. She normally plays with Mr F but today I got down on the floor and joined in. My favourite bit is building the track!

Time for Me

I have not done well at all this week. I have cried and had a meltdown about it all really. I feel so much better for talking it all through and am now back on track. Today I am up bright and early to go get my hair done – first time in over a year! I will be sure to post a pic on Instagram later on!

My Happiest Moment

Little G has never really been affectionate, she doesn’t cuddle or make a fuss. However, since starting preschool she is much more cuddly which is lovely. When I go to pick her up all the children sit in a circle, the staff open the sliding doors and I can always see her searching for me. When she spots me she shouts ‘MUMMY’ at the top of her lungs and rushes to me. Such an awesome feeling- I am her mummy and she loves me.

Next week I would like to…

Take more time to look after myself. My new year resolution was to take better care of myself and I have been. I’ve been moisturising daily, doing my nails etc but mentally I have let myself down. I had a lovely chat with the gorgeous Kat from Beau Twins and she has instructed me to get out of the house ON MY OWN once a week if I can. The last time I went out on my own was for a 10 min trip to Asda to pick up some bread! This needs to change!

Getting out of the house is such good advice - it seems so easy to stay inside, but in the end, I think everyone ends up with a bit of cabin fever, stressed out and grumpy. It's advice I need to take more often myself too. The Secret Garden looks amazing. I hope this week is better for you. :-)

Sorry you've been feeling low this week hun, I hope that you are feeling a bit brighter now. Well done for getting out of the house, that Secret Garden place sounds amazing and a lot more relaxing than soft play. I'm glad you made time for yourself to get your hair cut too, it looks beautiful! I hope you have a good week and find some time to get out on your own, we all need it sometimes. Thanks for hosting xx
